why are you taking vitamins?
Ron discusses vitamins and how not every vitamin supplement is created equal. He encourages his viewers to really explore why they take vitamins in the first place and brings to light that too much of a good thing can have an ill effect on your body. For example, some cancers respond to vitamins. It’s good to do your research and know exactly what you’re taking and why you’re taking it.
Hey guys. Today can be kind of serious, because I want to talk to you about vitamins. I want you to sit down today and think about why you take them. What are you taking vitamins for? What is the thinking behind your regiment of vitamins? Do you max up on vitamin C? Do you take mega doses of D? What did you read that makes you think you need to take so many of these vitamins and so many of those vitamins?
Studying and reading and just got into this book called “The End of Illness”, it’s a fantastic book by a guy called David B. Agus. He’s a cancer specialist. He talks about how too much of a good thing can have an ill effect also. In fact some cancers respond to vitamin C. You can actually OD on vitamin C when you have a cancer. It will actually feed the tumor. You want to be careful about what you take and why you take it. Do some investigation on it.
At my site we’re going to have links and I’ll be doing specific talks on just like a multivitamin. Like, this is a great company, this multivitamin by Metagenics. It’s usually prescribed by doctors and chiropractors and whatnot. You have to take six or seven of them a day, but they’re very complete. You get what they say, and they’re very balanced. The problem with a lot of the vitamins you’ll get at a Walgreens or a WalMart or something for $8, you get what you pay for. This bottle? It’s about 35 bucks. A bottle at WalMart, you can probably get for five bucks. You be the judge.
But also, these are designed and made for people to assimilate. They’re the kind of vitamins that the body needs. In the next upcoming few blogs I’m going to talk about the essential vitamins you need. There’s about 15 of them. All of the B vitamins, A, E.
Then there’s these extemporaneous vitamins that people kind of don’t –they’re fringe vitamins. They don’t really understand and they’re not vitamins. Amino acids, Le‘arginine, Le‘carnitine. Zinc, do you? Jeesh, should I take zinc? A lot of things like that. You really need to start taking a look at why you take what you take. Then, where did you learn this? How did you come about this? Where did this come from? Did you read it in article that says, “Zinc stops colds”. If this is the case you need to do more investigation.
You don’t want to just start popping pills because they’re good for you. As easy as it is to do bad by eating fast food and eating quick and eating the wrong types of foods, it’s just as easy to do the right thing incorrectly. You can over train. You can run a marathon, 26 miles, until your head explodes. Or you can just run a mile every day and get in shape. You can take a really efficient, clean vitamin that will help facilitate your diet, which is what vitamins are for, or you can go get a deal on something that you can get 50 bottles of and pretend you’re getting something out of it and you’re really not.
Do your homework. Don’t screw around here or I’ll get that paper leprechaun back here and you’ll regret it big time. Because let’s face it, he scares me. Very odd, that little leprechaun.
All right. Get a notebook, get a piece of paper and tomorrow just take a look. Write down what you’re taking, write down the brand names and start doing a little investigation. I think you’ll be really surprised at why you do or what you don’t do. All right? Thanks a lot.
