ron on orthorexia
In this short blog, Ron talks about Orthorexia and how people continue to make excuses about their diet. Ron tells us to stop trying to find explanations and excuses for why we eat poorly or in this case “too well.” Have some self control, eat right, and take care of yourself.
Gary, something’s wrong. I have Orthorexia.
Oh God. For some, pure diet can whittle away the health. Yes, eating too good can be bad for you. [chuckles] This is the stuff that dreams are made of. I’m going to go to college, I’m going to be a scientist, and I’m going to discover Orthorexia [laughs] .
What is wrong with you people? Scientists are studying foods that may cause Orthorexia. Here’s the premise; for those with Orthorexia, a dedication to health food turns into an obsession.
No, you can’t have that. It’s a disease. They go through the nonsense, exercising even when sick, or injured, agitation over having to shift their routine; I believe they call that ADD or being an asshole…calculating eating in public, a reluctance, or refusal to eat in public.
You obviously never met any of the people I know. They don’t ever refuse any food.
Hey, I just tore my article.
It goes on to say that of course people over obsess about everything. We live in a society that promotes that, and then we give them their own disease. “Yes, I have Orthorexia.” [sarcastically] [laughs] Stop it. See you next week.
