swiss ball stretch
Here are a couple of basic stretches with this great tool.
That’s right. What’s the 500 pound gorilla in the room? You’re chunky. The Stones are 50, so am I. Yeah baby.
I think to myself today; how would Keith Richards train? Well, he’d get a syringe and a bunch of heroin.
Another new tool or old tool to play with, the Swiss ball. We did the BOSU last week. This week we’re going to do the Swiss ball.
This is a great tool, really good for your back. Today I’m just going to show you a couple of basic stretches on it, a way to really open up your body safely.
Let’s say you haven’t been training for a while. Let’s say you’re Keith Richards and you haven’t bent over in the last 27 years. Now you’re going to pick up a pick that you’ve dropped. Hes got a million of them. They don’t even do that.
Let’s say you’ve got real issues with your knees, your core, your lower back. Blah, blah, blah, the same old thing everybody bitches about but doesn’t do anything about.
This Swiss ball, a large one, can really help you open up, and I know Mr. Cameraman, this is going to ruin your shot, but it can really help open up everything back here.
One of the first things you do is you get this and you just learn to lay back on it and open up your body.
Man, I’m telling you, you’re watching right now you’re going, big deal. But it is a big deal because, as a rule, every day your spine goes the other way. Here, you get a chance to just put your arms back, relax, move the ball around a little bit, shift your hips. It really opens up the spine in a reverse way. Stretching, expanding that spine.
Also, it stretches out the abs and the back muscles. It feels great.
And then when you want to get up safely, so that you don’t jerk your core, you just roll the ball back up with your feet. How easy is that?
Swiss ball. And inside, lots and lots of chocolate. Swiss Miss chocolate.
I’ll see you next week.
