Yep. Sitting down on the job. Damn explorers. One of those is my student, Will Steger. It’s 100 below there. They stopped for a snack. We’ll tell you about that later.
I want to talk to you today about a study being done, a study by the Mayo Clinic. The harbinger of health, the Mayo Clinic. I want to tell you that they are studying the effects of sitting down at work, and how this could be linked to your big, fat butt. They’re spending gazillions of dollars connecting dots that imply that if you get up and walk around more during the day, you’ll lose weight. What!? What do you guys think of that? Grumble grumble grumble. They think it’s crap.
This is the stupidity of America. We have to study the fact that if you sit down for eight hours a day and eat candy at your desk and are all pissed off and don’t do anything, you’ll get fat. Whereas if you get up and walk around and move around, touch your toes, run down the hall, don’t use the elevator, use the stairs, you won’t gain weight.
If you don’t have a big bowl of candy, too. Did I mention that? You people hide that candy in those drawers and stuff when I come to do workshops. Stuff gets slammed shut, and that big box of donuts sticking out by the microwave.
Our next shoot’s going to be in one of those places. I can’t wait to get there, at a certain graphic house where there’s just piles of crap everywhere.
What’s the point of this stuff? Well, look. OK, it’s admirable that they’re taking this on. “Hey look, guys. You’ve got to get up from your desk.” Do you really need the Mayo Clinic to tell you this? Do you really need to have people tell you that jeesh, you’ve got to stop eating garbage to not get fat? And when you get off work, maybe you should go for a walk. You don’t have to go to the gym. Just watch Ron Morris teach you how to work out outside, or up those flight of steps, or with Chihuahua that’s been bugging the hell out of you. Chihuahua juggling. It’s brutal, but effective.
Office dwellers stand up to sitting disease. Get it? Ha ha ha. Jeeze. Folks, Learn all about this stuff, and how not to have to be sucked into this dumb crap. As for the Mayo Clinic, well I guess they’ve got to find something to spend money on. I wish it was me and my cameramen, because we could use some clothes and some gasoline. And groceries. I’m done, go away.
