mindful eating
Steps to mindful eating:
- Take a minute and think about whether you really want to eat what you are about to eat.
That’s it! Not so bad, right? Starting to think about what you do, helps you not do things and helps you do other (more important) things.
Pay attention to what I’m going to tell you. It’s important. Mindful. I go through books and magazines. I pretty much make it my job to go through all the media nonsense and the hype that will help you navigate to common sense. Here’s some common sense. I actually read a really good article about “Mindful Eating.” This is going to be a short blog, because it’s really smart and really simple. Take one minute, one minute before you eat something, and think about if you really want it. Just one minute. Time it. Time one minute. Do I really want that candy bar? Just wait one minute. If after one minute you really want it, eat it.
But if you learn to do that, if you’re conscious and cognizant of what you’re doing. I’m going to stuff this pile of crap in my mouth that resembles food stuff. Starting to think about what you do helps you not do things and helps you do other things.
If you sit around and pontificate whether you should do your workout, not so good. If you go, you should workout. You should go workout. Think about it while you’re working out. My cameraman Gary, will tell you that it works every time. He gets out of bed and he does his workout. If he thought about it, he wouldn’t do it.
He’s got two teenage girls who are just waiting for him to get up so they can kill him. Think about what you’re doing. Think about it. If you don’t feel good today, why? Do something about it. Change it. You can change it like that. Hey, here comes a Snickers. Just stare at it for one minute. I guarantee you, you’ll make the right decision.
