slackline warmup
The slackline is a great tool for an easy and fun workout. It creates stability and balance in your core, your hip flexors, your knees, your ankles. It’s a really good rehab tool and a great way to build core strength by learning how to balance.
Yes, those are old school kicks, Run DMC. For you younger kids, go on your iPods and find that. Grandmaster Flash, kids. Up you go. Now, what we’re going to do today is just get used to our slack line.
These are awesome tools. They create stability and balance in your core, your hip flexors, your knees, your ankles. They’re a really good rehab tool and a great way to build core strength by learning how to balance, switching your foot, resting your body on your hips, and then using balance with weight. Today we’ve got maces, just like that.
You kind of play with it until you can feel the stability. Then when you do, wompaw, whee, look at me. I’m balanced. Certainly not mentally balanced, but that’s not what you guys are paying for. Hell, you guys ain’t paying for nothing.
You can also use one mace or no mace. One mace creates a different dynamic. Now you’ve got your free hand. You’ve got your free leg. Now you can balance. Look at that. That’s exciting. Well, not real exciting. Pretend it’s like 100 feet out. It would be really exciting.
You always want to switch legs. You’ll find that you have a more dominant, powerful leg. Then you can use that weight to create an imbalance or a balance depending on what you prefer, if you prefer anything at all. Back to me. That’s enough, Mr. Camera. Come back here. Hey, this is pretty fun, this circus stuff. See you next time.
