What makes these push ups the ULTIMATE push ups? You add gymnastics rings. Now, all of a sudden, my core’s working harder. My stabilizers in my shoulders are working harder. I’m flying all over the place.Then I come down, a nice, big stretch below the deck and get your butt up. Press up.
Today we’re going to play with these rings, the simple move of a push up.
The rings are really cool and a great tool to own because you can take them to the park. You can take them anywhere. But they create some stability into a natural environment and a simple exercise move, a push up.
Here’s a push up. Nice and solid. Bang, a push up, just like that. Easy peasy. Real good on its own, but now you add these elements. Now, all of a sudden, my core’s working harder. My stabilizers in my shoulders are working harder. I’m flying all over the place like this, like Greg Louganis. No, that’s not right. He was a swimmer.
Then I come down, a nice, big stretch below the deck and get your butt up. Press up. Wow. Unbelievable. It’s like the ultimate push up.
There’s about a million variations on that push up you can do with these, just learning how to control your body while these are just swimming about and moving about and shifting about and back and forth and crazy stuff.
Let’s do that one more time. You can also move your rings closer together, like that, and them move them out in front and back. Maybe one at a time. Feet apart, spread, stand, spread, lock. A whole bunch of different variations.
Or you could just hold yourself up on them. I mean, heck, that’s hard to do. Cross your legs, hold your body up. Now it amps up the intensity on a very basic and simple movement 10,000 fold.
OK, maybe not 10,000 fold.
